Pinot Noir Stift Schotten 2015

The grapes for this Pinot Noir come from the winery of Stift Schotten (Abbey of the Scots) in Maria Enzersdorf, which we have been leasing for 19 years. With its fine structure, this wine sets itself pleasantly apart from the international mainstream power red wines.


Origin: Maria Enzersdorf – Thermenregion – Lower Austria

Soil: Calcareous rocky brown earth of limestone.

Harvest: Hand picking

Grape processing & vinification: Fermentation on the skin (7 days), malolactic fermentation, vinification in used oak barrels, bottled after 9 months.

Analysis: Alc.: 13.0 % ABV; residual sugar: 1.0 g/l; acidity: 5.0 g/l

Description: Ruby red; clear flavour; mineral character, fine structure, rich in nuances.

Food pairing: Boiled fillet of beef, also goes with white meat as a change from a white.

Drinking temperature: 16°C

Best age to open: 2 to 3 years after harvest
